3.5! I used to think I wasn’t a fan of novella’s, but maybe I was just reading the wrong ones. This book was so fun! I loved Elijah and Alex together.
I was really really good with this book until the epilogue. So let’s start with what I enjoyed first. I really liked the relationship that built between Elijah and Alex. The force proximity of being in the lake house together and I am such a sucker for age gap romance, so this was right up my alley. I appreciate how possessive Elijah became and his dirty mouth was wonderful. I am all good with the breeding kink so this was superb.
I was not OK during the epilogue when Alex started calling him, daddy. To me that did not fit in what I thought Alex would do and especially since two pages before she was calling her dad daddy and there was too close relationship and that just didn’t sit well with me.

This book isn’t one I would normally gravitate toward since it contains a bunch of my least favorite tropes but hot DAMNNNNN was this novella so good. The spice was FANTASTIC, Elijah was adorable and Alex is The Moment. The only thing I needed was MORE. I’ve gotta track down the rest of Kayla’s books now.

I absolutely love a story with a confident, plus-sized FMC, where her size isn't mentioned other than in a positive light. Add in an age-gap romance with lots of spice - winner every time.
