The heart of this series is Jack and George. I wish they got their series because they are amazing. Romace here was insta-love, but the plot was fast-paced, so I didn't mind.

I love Ilona Andrews but this one felt a bit slapped together. I got the distinct impression they had decided to finish the series right before this book and tried to wrap up all the loose ends a bit clumsily.

I thought this was a fine end to the series. I enjoyed the fact that all of the books connected, just focused on different characters. The basic love story got a little tired because it's the same in all 4 books, but I found myself too caught up in the world to worry about that.

My least favorite of the four couples in this series (so far?) but still good fun.

I had no idea I wanted a book from Richard Mar’s POV, but damn, am I glad I got it.
Richard on his quest to end the slave trade in this dangerous and cutthroat magical parallel world, and Charlotte, a woman hiding herself and her destructive power from the world she grew up in. Together they made a heartbreaking and heartwarming story, a bittersweet ending to this fantastic series.
Just like in the conclusion to the Kate Daniels series—I don’t feel that Ilona Andrews gave us a fully wrapped up conclusion to this series. I’m not sure all my questions were answered. I wish I had seen the aftermath of the end of it all, as in, how all the characters I’ve come to love in this series turned out in the end. I felt a bit robbed of that joy and it still felt a little open-ended to me. So I guess I’ll be crossing my fingers, hoping one day Ilona Andrews will revisit this world again!

A fitting end to a terrific quartet. But I hope more Edge books are in the offing -- Sophie, George, Jack, perhaps even Tulip all need their own stories...
