One of the best “Art of” books I’ve read. Not only puts the incredible artwork on display but really takes you through the entire process from conception to the finale, even making a point to highlight art from every single episode. You really feel the love and passion in every drawing

An awesome look behind-the-scenes of my favorite show. What really stood out to me is the windy path creators take when putting together a world filled with rich lore, dynamic & complex characters, and stunning visuals.

That is to say, DiMartino & Konietzko don’t suddenly create the story for the legendary Avatar series overnight. Instead, the whole process is piece-meal, starting with one tiny sketch of a bald man and his robotic lemur friend. Then, with a lot of twists and turns and challenges, it slowly becomes one of the best stories ever created.
