Swept Away tells the story of a one-night stand that doesn't end because the houseboat float away in the middle of the night. The first half of this story was too slow & repetitive which made it hard to me to get into the book. However the plot does pick up midway & from there I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Overall despite the pacing issues I did enjoy the story. This was a unique take on the forced proximity trope, and I enjoyed the main characters quite a bit. The audio narration was excellent.

Everything about this book was highly unlikely. The concept was fun, but as soon as she accidentally stabbed him, I lost interest. I usually love Beth's books, so this was a dissapointment.

I have such a soft spot for romance novels with bizarre premises like, let’s say, a one night stand on a house boat that gets lost as sea for 12 days? I was thinking it was gonna be a cutie low stakes novel but it pulled me in from the start and handled heavy topics like grief and identity so well. Wouldn’t call it a palette cleanser but it was such a joy to read. Chicken soup for the soup type vibe
