Never Rescue a Rogue is the second book in The Merriwell Sisters series but worked very well as a stand-alone book for me. This is a fun book with both Diana and Giles engaging in witty repartee. They are the great slow burn - they bicker, have chemistry and are likeable. If you’re looking for a light, romantic escape with charming characters, definitely check out this book.

This book was an absolute pleasure, I really enjoyed it! It was joyful, humorous, so nicely written and kept me fully entertained, I wanted to just keep reading. It has the perfect amount of drama, mystery and romance needed.

I was rooting for Giles and Diana to resolve the mystery with winning results and I loved the slow burn romance between them, willing them to be together! Diana is a strong and inspirational woman and Giles is simply splendid and honourable.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, absolutely! It’s a fun historical read.

I am looking forward to reading the first book, as I didn’t realise this was book 2 of 2.

Thanks so much to Net Galley and all who made it possible for me to read this book!

I enjoyed this one. The intrigue, the drama, the family, their hesitant romance.

I loved MMC's declarations and words.

This was just a good read overall.

Trigger warnings: death (from childbirth and heart attack), lying, bigamy, kidnapping, stealing, neglect, violence

Favorite book of this series so far! (Which doesn't say much since it's the second out of three haha). I loved Diana and Giles when they were introduced in the first book; there's nothing like a pair of side characters who antagonize each other and have hilarious banter. That got even better when they took the center stage. Diana is definitely my favorite sister; she's tough, tenacious and protective. She cares so much about her family and loved ones. And she's such a badass, leading reporter exposing awful behavior in the country. Giles is great too! He came across so arrogant in the first book, but getting to know him in this book really rounded out his character and made him much more complex. I empathized with his situation so much and really felt for his anxiety and worry about his community. I loved the mystery element introduced and how even as they were falling in love, their relationship didn't change one bit! Honestly, I was just cheesing the whole time. Can't wait to finish the series and see who catches Venus' eye haha.
