This book really made me mad. Really deserves a trigger warning! I don’t understand why Colleen Hoover (CoHo) doesn’t believe in trigger warnings. Ryle is abusive and it’s incredibly upsetting how Lily just takes it. I get that she breaks the cycle at the end, but he still gets custody of their child? Ugh. She should’ve called the police. That would’ve been the best outcome in my opinion. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because it kept my attention.

I think women who have gone through similar struggles and situations will resonate with Lily, her mother, the decisions and what her heart and head tells her, what she feels… all of it. The ending makes the story and I hope a lot of women find courage from the decision Lily made. I admire her strength and the way she thought through it all until she just knew.

Great storyline, poor writing. If this concept had been given to someone like Kristin Hannah or someone of that caliber, it could have been a 5 star book. I can see how it would make for a good movie, though.
