The beginning was a bit sad and dark, but after that I couldn’t put it down.

i really don’t think i’ve cried that much while reading a book. i loved the characters and their developments and it was like i could feel their pain and i understood it on such a deep level. this book brought so much uncomfortable comfort to me and imma leave it at that.

As a person who has struggled with mental health and self harm tendencies this was an emotional and amazing read. The characters development kept me reading as well as the characters perseverience and resiliance. This was an amazing read and I have and will read it again.

Warning slight spoilers. I did not finish this book because of the slow plot.  I absolutely loved around the first 100 pages of her in the mental hospital you could really understand how she felt it. It felt like the best poem I’ve ever read until she left the hospital. Once she left the hospital it got very repetitive explaining why she didn’t want to take a shower about 100 times I also couldn’t relate on a personal level so that could also effect how I felt about it. They also sort of include deep explanation of self harm, family trauma, family death, friends trama, suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse and mention of drugs, smoking, and  alcohol. I was reading it with a friend we highlighted and talked about it but it wasn’t very clear or good after she left the hospital. But I would recommend reading the first 100 pages because it was really good if the author just left it there it would have been much better even without the clear thorough ending.
