Weird yet a little thought provoking at the same time.

Really clever story and a good allegory for taken for granted housewives.

I won this as a first reads giveaway, I didn't think I would really like it at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a quick/fun read, and definitely would be a good summer read. It's about a woman who becomes invisible due to a somewhat unique drug interaction, and how she copes with 1. her family not realizing she's invisible and, 2. the fact that she's become invisible. It explores the new relationships she finds when she encounters she's not the only invisible woman, and the impacts it has on her 'visible' friendships. It also has some fun with what it would be like and what you have to do while being invisible.

So clever and spot-on. A light read but feels so true: women of a "certain age" just start feeling invisible. This book makes it literal. I just had a good time with it.

I thought this was going to be too serious, but no - just a story that allows you to "get" the parable without forcing it down your throat - I think I want to read it again for depth.
54 yr old Clover feels invisible to her family - but then - it becomes a reality. Detailed discussions on an approach to life and what gifts you may have to share even in the most dire situation. Sometimes, hitting bottom helps one to see where to go more clearly - just good stuff in a funny little novella.

I thought it was pretty good, I would probably suggest it to someone else. I did laugh a few times. I wouldn't call it hilarious, but it was slightly funny. A fast read. I think of it as a good summer read, or for traveling. Also great if you are in the mood to read something not too serious. It does contain an interesting thought here regarding women, in particular mothers, feeling invisible.

I loved this book - I've always been a fan - the Ohio connection always adds to my enjoyment. A well balanced look at life as a women over the age of 50. We're invisible whether it's actual or metaphysical.

I have always had a bad habit of picking up donated and used books at the public library where I worked. I still do it as a patron. They only cost a little and I never know when I might run out of reading material. The facts that my shelves are full, that I have lots of books on my Kindle and that the electronic library is open 24 hours has not changed this pattern. I just don't want to face a place where I have nothing to read.
So this novel is one of those items that I picked up along the way. I am guessing I was sucked in my the cover. The dog looks a lot like a Cairn terrier and I love them. (It turns out it is a Cairn.)
I have no good reason for deciding to read this next. I am in the middle of 18 other books, but this was what I wanted. I found Ray's story distracting and entertaining. Although it is not very plausible, it is a lot of fun.
Ray has picked a good group to make invisible - middle-aged women. How many of us have felt invisible at one time or another. How the women have gotten to be invisible and their solution is the main theme of the book.
I recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt a bit invisible, a bit ignored. Hopefully it will help you laugh at your predicament.

A charming, heartfelt novel that I finished in less than a week and loved. Clover Hobart has literally gone invisible and her new condition has its drawbacks as well as benefits. Her family and friends can't see her, but she also never has to worry about paying for a plane ticket or buying new clothes ever again. The story also touches on how those we love can become invisible to us in different ways when we take them for granted. I'd read more from this author.

A fun read!
Easily finished in a few hours, this novel was a light read, and yet a thought-provoking story. I enjoyed the concept when I read the description, and the book itself doesn't disappoint. My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer. :) I wasn't ready to give up those characters so soon... I look forward to reading more from Jeanne Ray in the future!
