It started out slow and rather predictable. She's invisible because she is of that certain age when everyone stops noticing a housewife... but then it got better. There were some funny parts, but nothing hilarious. And the end was rather swift. I was a little grossed out at the nudity but I can see how it was needed. All in all, a fun read.

I won this book on Read It Forward. At first I thought it would be a silly story & was hesitant to read it but after finishing it I must say that I really enjoyed it. It really made me wonder if anyone would miss me if this ever happened to me. We all feel invisisble at times but in a totally differently way of course. It also made me think about all the pharmaceutical companies & the drugs that they produce everyday. When you take an RX for something there is always a side effect.

Maybe it was because I wasn’t expecting a lot out of this book that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Maybe it’s because I understand that invisible feeling that is referenced so often in the book. I love how they talk about taking back your own power. A good story and I think it will make for a good discussion at my book club.

3.75 but I'm giving it a 4 because a 3 definitely isn't enough. I read Ann Patchett this morning and her mom this afternoon. This was an easy read. Nothing earth shattering, and I'm thankful for that. I just wanted a good story. This is a good story. Also, I've been invisible for about 4 years, so it made me feel less alone.

In reading this for a book discussion, there is clearly an audience for this type of story. I am not a member of that audience.
If you're looking for another version of the invisible woman, check out the vengeful teenager at the center of "Out of Mind, Out of Sight" (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, S.1 Ep.11). The ending scene was chilling and provided additional excitement, especially compared to the tidy bow Ray tied her characters into in this novel.
I'm in the camp that this had a promising premise, but would have been better served as a short story or novella - focus on the characters or the larger plot....you can't do both in 250 pages.

A social commentary on how women feel invisible in their lives.

As I listened to this book, I kept thinking, "Why didn't I think of this idea? It's great!" As an aspiring writer, I was impressed with the ingenuity of this story, as well as Jeanne Ray's creative similes and metaphors. This is a funny and touching story about the impact that women can have - alone and together. I highly recommend it!
