After completing the trilogy and in wait for the TV series, The Tailor was a great amuse bouche with one of my favorite characters of the series. And, as always, Lwigh Bardugo didn't disappoint.

A good short story that gives more insight into Genya’s trauma and pain to show why she made the choice she has made. I can’t fault Genya for what she did and I definitely want to read more about her in Ruin and Rising.

i love genya so much?? and it's so easy to understand why she fell for the darkling's bullshit so easily; goddamnit, i wanted to fall for his crap all over again. i know he's so problematic,, and spiteful and arrogant and the pure incarnation of evil,, but i hope he gets a redemptive arc?? because. he's pretty. (yes, im very shallow. let me live.) i hope genya joins up with alina+mal in the end eventually, she deserves better and i hope she ends up with that david guy.. sigh. the court life in grisha is so messed up

”It hurts, but I can bear it. Because I am a doll, and a servant. Because I am a pretty thing and a soldier all the same.”

Totally amazing novella telling us about Genya. Showing us parts of stuff that we have seen, but this time through Genya's eyes, but we also learn more of her past. :D
