3.5✨️

This series was a fun read, and I felt connected to all the characters. It dropped from a 4 to. 3.5 due to the speed of the :redacted: and :redacted: parts of the plot. But overall, a solid finish for the series.

Ps. All Hail, Kraken (i am sad we didn't get a kraken pov in books 2 & 3, his stuff was by far the most interesting)

How the hell did the cats and rats figure out that coffee is poisonous to dragons?

This is a review of all three books. I have given this five stars as I loved the book. I ordered 2 and 3 the minute I finished 1. At the same time I feel guilty about the score as I have to say the book is badly written in many ways. It’s one huge book split up into 3 volumes. While books 1 and 2 come to stopping points in the romance nothing else plot wise is finished. There is no attempt to explain the plot in 2 and 3. They just start. The author makes no attempt to recap. This is also true when it comes to events / characters. The author assumes you remember everything and makes no efforts to help the reader along. Earlyish in book 2 we meet a family who are related to a minor character in book 1. I had no idea who the character was and it wasn’t until book 3 that I discovered his identity which is when we next met him. The plot can also be labyrinthine and I’m not sure the author always fully followed it. There are POV changes and jumps back in time. Both can be very random. At one point there is a jump back showing the King and Queen meeting which raises more questions than it answers. This has no purpose and goes nowhere. Despite this as I say I loved the book.
