Once again,we pick right up where the previous book ended. I still love Fin and Annika and their interactions. Kraken gets up to more furry mischief. I adore the moments when Fin gains unexpected loyalty from random people.

This one has a couple heartbreak moments. I won't lie, I teared up a bit. But this is the last in the trilogy. There is a follow up set years later, but this one completes the story of Fin Ashowan, the House Witch.

The only thing I did not like was Aiden Helmer, but he's the villain, and not a redeemable one, so there is that.

I immensely enjoyed this series and I loved all the characters and their developments but I absolutely despise suprise/unplanned pregnancy tropes, especially during a war like this. overall, the writing style and switching povs were great but it could've used some editing. alsooo, kate deserved so much better. I was really looking forward to the family dynamis between her, captain antonio, fin and annika.
