My expectations were low - I had loved the first book in this series but the second fell flat for me. However, this book exceeded my expectations and I felt that it wrapped up the story nicely. I still don't feel that the enjoyment I had from reading the first book was maintained through the series but I was happy to have read it.

The first book was great and the last was meh. It sucks when the author looses the thread of what made a story great. I had a great time with Fin doing his house witch stuff. He does almost no house witchery in this book. Its so sad.
Side note: The narrator changed the voice for Kraken. It was already an interesting choice to begin with. Narratively it didn't make a lot of sense for the setting but I was on board after I got used to it. Then he did a full 180 in this book and it is even more jarring.
