I'm quite delighted with this series. The first is by the far the coziest, and there are a few plot holes i wish had been tied up, but if you're willing to just read for vibes it's delightful.

I liked the series overall, and the other two books I gave 5 stars. This one was not as lighthearted as the other ones, but I would still call it cozy fantasy.

It was very fast paced, and I feel like I could have been a bit longer. A lot of stuff in the end is just told not shown. I did not have a huge problem with that, but it might disappoint some.

The reason I gave this 3 stars:
I hated the surprise pregnancy, because it was so clear to me that Annika did not want to be a mother. I felt so sad for her and HATED when they started to treat her like she is not a spy and assassin, just... pregnant.

I also did not like that her power and character kind of faded when they got married. For example: Fin says that he might be the only viscount that leaves his duties to his wife and he talks about all the new stuff he had to suffer (buh hu). I WISH he left it to her. There were a lot of these small things, and it made me so sad to see her losing her things, home and power because of the marriage. She is not a helpless child and I feel like she was lost in this book. I know she was the one killing the king, but I still feel disappointed because the other characters stopped believing in her.

I also got so angry when Fin made her apologize in the end, because she did not leave when the fight started. I hated that power shift, like he can control her?? "You have to protect more than yourself now", bitch stfu, she did not even wanna be a parent.

The second book handled pregnancy well, and I feel so weird about Annika getting pregnant. It feels like her and Fin were "not enough" to be a family, and for Fin's powers to become stronger he had to have children. Nah fam, not a fan.

I wish it had ended without kids, and they would have been happy regardless.

a really good wrap up to this part of the story.

This is my favorite cozy fantasy series to date. Altho I would say this third book really isn’t “cozy fantasy” but the first two I would classify in that genre. Overall I had fun with this series and enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read more about Kraken in his upcoming series.
