Another really good YA classic! It's soft and perfectly cheesy. It successfully makes you hopeful as an adult, while talking to your inner teenager's fantasies. The characters are kind and smart and hopeful and it feels good to read about them getting the story they deserve (like what you would have deserved).
The kind of book that reconciles me with YA lit and reminds me that I actually really do quite enjoy it, when it is done well.

I had seen and loved the series adaptation first, but I'm really glad to have read the book too and I love it as well. From what I remember, the series made some changes from the book, which work really well for it but I am glad that I hadn't read the book first because I might have been disappointed to have some passages/events altered as they are really nice as they are in the book already.

Also as a note, I think it is really great it shows two MLM couples when queer ya literature wasn't that much of a thing (at least I don't think it was). Although they're not the main characters, they're nicely represented. However, there's a little bit of bi erasure going on which is a bit of a pity but it's very minimal.

My second time reading this book! It’s so festive and cozy, perfect for the Christmas season! Oh, to pass letters with a cute boy in NYC during Christmastime! 🥰 It’s the goal! (also, this is a sort of grumpy/sunshine book so, a+++)
