Ein Buch wie eine Umarmung zum Abschied. Warm, melancholisch und man wünschte sie würde nie enden.

Ich mochte die Liebe in den Beschreibungen, die Klarheit und die Atmosphäre. Kaum ein Wort zu viel. Präzise, unprätentiös und warm.

Einfache Umstände, aber Tiefe und viele Facetten in den Leben der beschriebenen Personen. So unterschiedlich die verschiedenen Schicksale, so gleich in ihrer Menschlichkeit und Geduld.
Zeit und Stadt sind nur wunderbar knapp angedeutete Kulisse. Und ein alter Bekannter huscht gegen Ende durchs Bild und weckt eine kleine lächelnde Erinnerung.

Ich lese Robert Seethalers Bücher sehr gern. Dieses ganz besonders. Ein Genuss.

It isn’t holding my interest and whilst I’m enjoying the stories of the main characters, I’m not interested in some of the minor ones. For a short novel, it’s covering a wide timespan and I would rather we focused on a short period than racing through the years.
