Great start then it fizzled out a little. Still an enjoyable reading. Also reminded me again of how incredibly selfish some people’s idea of a solution to a problem can be when it is a matter of their own survival.

I just couldnt get into this book...i skimmed 90 percent of it . Just not my taste.
This book was somewhat predictable and had a few holes/inconsistencies which made it hard to want to keep reading it. It engaged me enough to finish it, but definitely not to want to recommend it or read it again!
The book had a decent premise. It was fast paced, yet I somehow still felt lulled. It was also a bit too predictable for me. I almost wanted to quit midway, but also wanted to see if it played out the way I imagined. It did. Not my favorite.
DNF at about 180 pages in because I sense a romance coming on with this ex-Marine who literally is saying that sometimes he misses being in Afghanistan??? and also attacked a kid in one of his college classes for saying that the US troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan should be tried for war crimes MAMMA MIA
This book pulls you in immediately, there is murder, family, friends and a huge twist. My kind of book!
Please don't be fooled by the glamorization of manic episodes. While they do feel like you have super powers, they are incredibly dangerous to yourself and others around you. I was good to see someone take on mental health in a real way though. We don't talk enough about bipolar, about how it is invasive in the person's life, about how medicine is dulling, and about the dangers of not taking the medicine.
And Then You Were Gone follows Emily as she comes to grip with the loss of her boyfriend, Paolo. After years of managing and controlling her bipolar disorder, this loss threatens to throw Emily completely off balance. She will not believe that Paolo could have drowned, and struggles to understand what could have happened until she discovers evidence that may suggest that there has been foul play. Emily fights to find the answers before she falls victim to her bipolar.
A great thriller/mystery that keeps you guess. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good thriller/mystery!
