написано дуже погано і дуже кринжово, але тут класний мужик, через якого я змусила себе прочитати аж половину книжки і поставила їй аж 2 (а не одну) зірочки (рука не піднялась через оцього Роуда).

This was so good! I loved both characters and Nina’s anxiety struggles were so real. I loved how Rhode never abandoned her when she tried to push him away. I also loved how Rhode cross stitched and was the person that really pulled the team together.

I don’t usually push through books I’m not into, and honestly, I should’ve just DNF’d this one. It had some potential, but there was a lot that didn’t work for me.

First off, the sister dynamic between Nina and Gwen felt too much. There totally could have been ANY other point of conflict between the two than Gwen dating her younger sisters ex. Also, they had a sister that died, it was exactly mentioned once and then dropped...why wasn't it included more? i would have loved if it was made to be important part of their now relationship instead of whatever it was with Isaac.

Nina and Rhode's age difference or more the connection of Rhode's sister and younger brother-like teammate both knowing Nina. I think just having teammate know Nina could have been enough. The fact that Rhode though he was SOOO MUCH older than her at all times was driven home anyhow, like why was it such a big deal? Also the random kiss between Gwen and Rhode before Rhode and Nina even met, it made no sense and just felt unneccesary plot point in the story ( same as the Isaac one)

The whole thing with names and nicknames drove me nuts. Why add so many when it just makes things confusing? I found myself mixing up Wyn and Wyatt more than once, which really pulled me out of the story. ALSO the fact Ninas full name was Philomena but 99% of the time she was called Nina, why couldnt this just be her name then? why did it have to be this weird'ish name that made even harder to navigate all those "cool" and "special" names brought up in the story.

And don’t even get me started on the Rhode's posessiveness. Like, why would a professional hockey player openly show anger at a teammate during a game, risking a brawl because of a girl-friend at this point? It felt super unrealistic. Plus, the dialogue didn’t help—one minute the character is all "nobody else can have her," and the next, he's acting like he doesn’t care. Make it make sense!

And then the ending... ugh, Rhode suddenly deciding he doesn’t want kids after it being such a huge deal throughout the book? It felt like a cheap twist that didn’t need to be there. Why drag it out if it’s not going anywhere? And then him having ring picked out for Nina when he knows full well she wants just to live life and get her career going... so basically he still wanted what he wanted ALL book, just with her when he knows that she cant give it to her as he would need at the ripe age of 33 🙄

In the end, while there were moments that showed promise, the confusing names, forced drama, and inconsistent characters made this a tough one for me. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn’t work out. I really hope the next book is better because the cover sure is beautiful but tbh my hopes arent too high anymore

This book was pretty darn fun. From Rhode and Nina's meet cute to the hot first hook up and then the emotional ending, I was really rooting for these two. There were some moments along the way that didn't necessarily work for me but overall I think this is such a solid read. I'm excited to see what else this author has in store, especially for Rhode's teammate, and hot single dad, Patty and his baby girl Betty.

Thank you so much Meredith and LoveNotes PR for the ARC!

Absolutely blown away that this was a debut novel, it had me hooked from the jump. I devoured it in a single day, with my toddlers home. The story of Rhode and Nina was adorable, the mental health representation was fantastic, and the banter was witty and had me laughing out loud. The part about falling asleep outside the Sig Ep house after one cup of punch? Same girl, same.

I am an avid sports romance girly and this one read differently (in a good way!) than so many others. It felt deeper, more impactful, and raw. Plus let’s be real, the spice was
