I didn’t really like any of the characters, too much to unpack and too many sub plots I could see building. I didn’t like the writing style either, or understand the splitting of the book into 3 parts when it ending up going chronological with flashbacks anyways despite the splitting. Also within the different parts you would think that it would follow the POV of the person that each parts “truth” related to but it kind of bounced all over the place. Overall just not my cup of tea.

i really wanted to enjoy this book because well the plot was interesting but frankly it could've been written better 😵‍💫 it was confusing and messy along the way and the ending was pretty abrupt. all the characters were irritating imo 😭

I...don’t know what to rate this book. It was given to me as a gift, but honestly I just don’t think I’m the target audience anymore. On the plus side, the abundance of LGBTQ+ rep was lovely to see (still too rare!!) and none of the trauma was linked with being LGBTQ+, which makes a nice change from tropes. However, I think this book was just trying to do too many things for me. If it was just a coming-of-age/ thriller, I may have liked it better. But, the addition of the fairy tale retelling, I felt, stilted the story and make it feel kind a little ridiculous to me.
