I listened to the audio version. Jinger has a great story that I think would be very helpful to others trying to disentangle themselves from IBLP or similar. She thoroughly explains what she grew up believing and what she now believes and how she came to those beliefs. She uses MANY Bible verses to support these. The audio version felt a little stilted. She clearly stated the problems with Gothard and IBLP. She got away from the false teachings of Gothard and yet still clearly loves Jesus has grown much in her faith.

Very different than what was expected; sad but interesting to hear a woman try to justify making decisions solely based on the perspectives of the men in her life and choose to move from one destructive lifestyle to another.

I knew going into this it wasn’t a tell all exclusive, but I didn’t realise I would feel like I was reading the whole bible. Jinger puts forward some interesting perspectives into the cult of Bill Gothard, and how she was tricked into believing things that just aren’t true and don’t appear in the bible.

I wish she made mention of what her family thinks / follows now - but I’m sure she’d say “that’s not her story to tell”

This book is pretty boring and not very well written. If you're interested in Christian theology, it may have some appeal. It offers little actual insight into the author's life or point of view, other than a few sections at the beginning where she reflects on growing up on television.
