Spectacular dulogy! Loved this one more than the first, it’s so engaging and I loved getting all the details about the characters and their background, the plot is wielded so cleverly! Only downside was Mathias dying, yes I believe it was inevitable for someone in the crew to die but his death was so unceremonious it felt too avoidable and unreal, it’s poetic for him to be killed by his ex-self the reflection of his old self but it still fell short and I felt numb towards the full affair he could’ve been healed by the grisha who were there a minute ago but conveniently they were gone the book itself was really fast paced and I loved how the stakes were high and things were lost but ultimately they find away, or rather… kaz does

What a ride! This story was incredible — each POV drew me in, and I loved diving deeper into the pasts of the crew while watching each of them grow. The cameos from the Shadow and Bone cast were a thrill, tying the world together beautifully. This book made me want to be a thug with principles… but still a good old con thief at heart.

When I shed tears for Matthias is when I realized that I care about these characters more than I thought I did. But I will never forgive Leigh for killing Matthias just as he was getting a character growth arc. But still, I'm happy my babies are getting the happiness and peace that they deserve. And Pekka Rollins can go to hell for all I care. He needs to take the warning from Inej and stay the heck away from Ketterdam.
