So capturing, couldn't put it down. Love that Wyland got a POV this book!!
I enjoyed this rereading a lot. I already miss them :(
DNF at 28%. It was pretty much the same book as six of crows, which I also struggled to get through. I couldn’t connect or care about any of the characters and everything felt very pointless. This book has sat at 28% for weeks and every time I thought about trying to finish it I physically couldn’t so I’m finally just DNFing it after a month of trying to push through it with no avail.
A whirlwind, of emotions, broken characters, plot and tension, like the first (though different, darker), but still super enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. Definitely worth reading.

I loved reading the Crooked Kingdom! It was so dynamic and fun, and I loved that even though Kaz didn’t succeed in every escapade, and he was more like a phoenix that rose from the ashes and burned his enemies to the ground. I loved the romance between Jesper and Wylan, and Nina and Matthias, but I felt like the romance between Kaz and Inej was a little forced. I wish that there would’ve been a little more chemistry between the two of them, especially because they had the safe relationship of her being his spider, his wraith. I just wanted more of that, especially because the other two couples’ love was developed so well, and it was a bit disappointing to see this fall a little short for me.
I felt like the action was done extremely well, and I loved the schemes that Kaz was able to come up with. There was literally no stone left unturned when it came to the richness of the culture of this amazing world where Grisha existed. The one thing I wished that they would’ve wrapped up a little better was how they wrapped up the whole thing about Jurda Parem. I mean we know that they are hopefully going to come up with a cure, but it’s never really resolved. Perhaps that’s something that’s handle in the other Grisha Trilogy, but it was something that I was really curious about.
For the most part, I loved how everything was wrapped up. Wylan and Jesper get together and Wylan gets his home and his mother back. I loved that Kaz and Inej basically get together, and Kaz finds Inej’s parents. The one thing I was not happy with and my reason for the four-star review is because of what happened to Matthias and Nina. Matthias dies, which ok if I felt like it was a deserved death I would be more ok with it, but I did not feel like it was a deserved death. I do not know why his death was added to the story. Those two were so cute together, and it finally felt like those two were going to get some semblance of a happy life, but then a young boy from Fjerda comes up to him and shoots him. I know that he was trying to change the young boy’s perspective, but I just felt like it was only added in there just so Matthias would die. It didn’t feel like there was a purpose to his death. I just felt like Nina was left alone to be left alone. It didn’t feel like it added anything to the story.
Overall it was a good story to read, and I would recommend this for others to read.
