One POV was engaging to me and felt like the first two books, whilst the other suffered from Every Character At Once syndrome and I couldn’t tell them apart

Alas it's not my favourite. I am now however very interested in Lucy and Liao's adventures and if something unresolved from here does get resolved there.

The problem is not that this is a bad book, the problem is that this is labelled as #3 in the Greenglass House series, but it actually seems to be part of a different series. There were a number of plot points and characters that readers were already meant to know about, so the book felt slow and hard to get in to. Overall, I found the experience of reading this book frustrating.

Despite loving the first two books in the Greenglass House series immensely, I'm not sure if I'll read the fourth book or any of Kate Milford's other books.

Turns out this book is not really a sequel to green glass house. Yes, the house is in it, but barely. Yes, it does tie in from some of the oral stories from the first book.... but it would apparently be better situated in Milford’s other series. Which would explain why we were rather confused for quite a bit.
