On the surface it's a cute story but something about how Mother and children communicate doesn't sit with me well - there are no boundaries or consequences. As I read it I am preoccupied with how that communication style is not going to end up working in their teen years.

However, the illustrations are fantastic!!

I loved Jill Murphy's All in One Piece as a kid, so I wasn't surprised to like this one when it was given at a baby shower. All Mrs. Large wants is five minutes' peace, but her children need her help or want to show her something. She can't even take a bath in peace. I think most moms can relate.

Fue un pequeño cuento, realmente cautivador cuando era pequeña. Las mamas también necesitan sus 5 minutos de paz o pueden explotar. Fué como un manual divertido y chispeante lleno de los "must not" dentro de una familia con madre soltera

Love this hilarious look at a busy mother's plight. She wants five minutes alone, but her little ones keep interrupting...sweetly. A favorite from my own children's toddler days.

I don't know where my copy has gone! I simply can't have thrown it out! Did it get worn out?My first meeting of an adorable great niece (who amazingly survived meningitis)& I ignored her until I reread her copy of this wonderful book!

Out of all the great books I read to my children this was my favourite. Beautifully illustrated, the text is on two levels, so that adults can enjoy a wry smile while reading it to their youngsters.

Just can't recommend highly enough!

What a mother does for just 5 minutes' peace... The baby wasn't listening, but I had to keep reading anyway!

About a hundred times so far I've decided to give this book away to one of the various kids in my life. And a hundred times I sat down to read the book first, and realized there's no way I can let this leave my house! Sorry, kiddos. Guess you'll have to come over so we can read it together. The story is adorable and relatable both for kids and their harried parents. The pictures are beyond cute. Every detail is perfect, from the baby's hair and the kids' sweet innocence to Mama Large's facial expressions as she copes with being hounded by her little ones 24/7. Just too cute.

A five minute read that holds up even better when reading it as an adult. I may have just giggled hysterically through the entire thing. :)
