I listened to this book on audible and I was hooked from the very beginning. Lots of twists and turns! It reminded me of the classic who done it. I highly recommend.
I read Pieces of Her a few years ago, and it was okay - not my favorite Karin Slaughter (and I have many; she is excellent!). I’ve had this book for a while and kept lowering it on my TBR since this book follows the same protagonist as Pieces of Her. I am so glad I finally picked it up! This book is on par with Slaughter’s Will Trent series. Interesting characters, compelling case, a couple twists… wonderful read!

The storyline was entertaining. An easy read alone if you didn't know this book was a sequel. Slaughter did well to fill in necessary gaps but has also opened the door for me to want to read the first in the series. I guess I live under a rock because the first book is on Netflix.
Anyway, I think the only thing that really bothered me was that the timeline of the story took place in 2-3 days. It was a lot of information and happenings to occur in that short of a time span. I also had questions regarding the details of the crime itself. Yes, the perpetrator of the original crime was identified, but it was a simple confession that, to me, left me wanting to know more. The bigger crime reveal had more details. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

The novel 'Girl, Forgotten' is a captivating literary work that engrosses the reader from the very first page. The author's ability to develop each character uniquely and provide them with a backstory is noteworthy. The plot is well-written and evokes a range of emotions in the reader. While the story may be sad, it is also intriguing and keeps the reader engaged. The novel's pacing is well-done, and its length is ideal for maintaining reader engagement from beginning to end. Overall, this book is recommended to anyone searching for a well-written, character-driven narrative that keeps them on edge until the conclusion.
Started this one a couple times before finally getting all the way into it… While it got off to a slow start for me, it definitely picked up with tension and suspense as the story progressed. I think there were a few too many characters that made this hard for me to really sink into, but the second half of the book made up for it. Lots of content warnings attached to this one, but that checks out for Karin Slaughter. 3 stars.
