I absolutely adored this book, I finished it within a few hours. You cannot help but warm to the serial killer, Brogan, even with his evil ways. Would highly recommend, you won’t want to put it down.

I was surprised by this one. It kept me turning pages. I was expecting that. The thought of someone hiding in the house is one I have had for awhile. I knew I would be creeped out. What I didn't expect was to care about the bad guy. I mean he was a serial killer. It opens with what he had done. That isn't someone to care about. But the author offered up a story that drew me in, creeped me out and had me caring about someone likely to kill me. Interesting to think about how this occurred.

I guess I had too high expectations since I love Jackson's DS Cody series, and I thought it was going to be similar - silly me with my brain taking shortcuts. This is not a procedural for starters, it's from the point of view of the killer. The killer is completely crazy and talks to himself, and nothing happens for 90% of the book, it's more of a character study. Not bad, just not what I am looking for.

I guess I went in blind and had no idea what I was getting into. All I knew was that it was a serial killer living in an attic, sounds simple enough right? Well, let me tell you. There is ALOT to unpack here. This was my first by this author and I absolutely loved his writing style. Thrilled, horror, drama…you get it all in this book! It’s a nail biter, and could easier be read in one or two sittings. 4.5/5 stars rounded up!

This was so creepy & so good! It's dark & scary & addictive. I liked the way the book was written, and the interactions Thomas had with his unwitting housemates. The characters were great, and I loved the ending!

Thanks to Serpent's Tail, Viper & NetGalley for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

did not particularly stand out in the sea of serial killer thrillers. the plot and writing was not bad but the twists didn't elicit much of a reaction out of me given the fairly surface level characterization

Very creepy

“There’s a serial killer on the run and he’s hiding in your house.”

Well that’s unsettling!
We all love to read about a serial killer, but maybe not one secretly hiding in our home. That is the draw of this book.

Not since Danny Boyle’s 1994 movie, ‘Shallow Grave’ have I been as concerned about the contents of my attic!

We read from the perspective of Thomas Brogan, the serial killer. A man who is sadistic, troubled and oddly likeable. Every resident in this novel is fully actualised and fleshed out enough for you to really feel the drama from both sides of the story.

This was an absolute page turner and I flew through it. a well deserved 4 stars
