I really enjoyed this book as a teenager and I recently started to reread it again. It’s a really cool concept and brings a whole new meaning to “heaven” for me.

I just love Gabrielle Zevin. She writes such concrete characters that I find impossible not to love.

Elsewhere is full of whimsy and sadness and hope and reflection on what makes a life important. This concept of the afterlife is charming, heartwarming, and a little heart breaking all in one. It reminded me of Alice In Wonderland, The Princess Bride, and even a little Good Omens in narration style.

As usual with a Zevil novel, I laughed, I cried, and I will find myself missing these characters as if I knew them. IN LESS THAN 300 PAGES! Im astounded once again.
