This is a wonderful weaving of dual timeline stories; of Agnes and her husband as they fall in love and start their family, and of her son Hamnet in his final hours before succumbing to the Black Plague.

I cried for the entire second half of this book. Full body sobs with snot and all, and that’s the biggest endorsement I can give this book.

Very slowly paced. Gives a great depiction of what life during the Elizabethan Age could have possibly been like.
