4.5 stars.
I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
I completed it in less than a day.
I was hooked!
The beginning, with all of them in detention.. the jock. The criminal. The princess. The nerd.
It's like the breakfast club cast was put into a murder mystery movie and it was EXCELLENT!

This was not good. The mystery overall wasn't delivered in an really interesting way, and I didn't like the characters. Even the reveals weren't that surprising. Overall it was below average for me.
This book reminded me so much of Pretty Little Liars but with one aspect that made it a hundred times better! You actually find out who's behind it all!
Seriously, I stopped watching PLL because that little thing frustrated the hell out of me...
But, let's start at the beginning. And the beginning is simple: You get sucked right in. There's no escaping. As soon as Simon's dead, the snowball starts rolling and rolling. Down it goes! And, guess what? You're simply stuck in it.
I couldn't help myself, had to keep reading. I just had to find out what had happened, who was behind it. Who was lying? Who wasn't? Why did they do this?
When it comes to the writing, it read fluently. It really did. One Of Us Is Lying isn't a page-turner because of the story alone, the writing also does the trick.
I did have one problem with it though, and that's the voice of the characters. Although Cooper's voice stood out at times, I often had the feeling that they all sounded the same as well. I honestly had to go back sometimes to find out who's POV I was in at that moment. When you're using different POV's - and especially with such a diverse set of characters - you shouldn't have that.
All in all I did enjoy the story, but it wasn't a five star-read for me. If you enjoy mysteries, however, I'd definitely recommend this one. Or if you simply need a book you wouldn't want to put down, I'd say this is the one for the job as well!
4 / 5!

I paid full-price for this novel. All opinions are entirely my own. I'm not being compensated in any way.

A couple of words is all it'll take to make everything in my life Before and After.

I really liked the storyline. Great page turner and I didn't expect the end reveal. Just a great who done it. I also liked that as unfortunate as the entire incident was, it gave all of these kids early access to actual perspective on what's truly important.
