Sometimes I really like a book that's mostly vibes
Het idee van dit boek is goed, en Sudbanthad kan prachtig schrijven. We volgen stukjes uit de levens van mensen die aan elkaar raken, verbonden door de stad Bangkok (ofwel Krungthep). Toch is het te complex om ervan te kunnen genieten: historische fictie, scifi, verliefdheden en zwangerschappen waarvan je niet weet hoe het afloopt. En teveel diepgang bij personages die niet echt interessant zijn.
Wel interessant is het toekomstbeeld van deze grote metropool, waar elke kuststad op termijn mee zal moeten dealen.

Absolutely not what I was expecting at all, but the writing is lovely and the braided storylines were interesting to follow. Having some of it dated down to the month while other portions floated out in vague decades was difficult to pin down, but probably the point.
i'd say this is exactly the book I was looking for. That Sci fi futuristic section was crazy though.... didn't expect that bit /////short story type compilation ///also mentioned some white guy living in thailand not my fav but maybe my mom would like that part.

I found the story very hard to follow. At the beginning of most chapters, it took me a while to place time period and characters. I like the premise of the book and it has some interesting story lines, but I spent much of my time reading trying to figure out what was going on.
