I think this book gets a bad rep. If I could, I'd give it a 3.5. Okay I was forced to read this book for school, okay it does drag on at points, but overall it is a really entertaining and hilarious read!

Pamela's retelling of her close encounters with the devilish Mr. B never failed to make me smile. Richardson has Pamela portray herself as the most virtuous of them all, but I couldn't help but feel it was a construction to reassure her parents so that she could stay and complete her scheme. Pamela knew exactly what she was doing, and it worked! Kudos Pamela, for working within a system that unsuccessfully tried to render you powerless. She uses Mr. B's debauchery against him, and makes the most of it in the end.

Pamela is a thought-provoking and introspective read that explores themes of morality, sexuality, and power dynamics, set in a slow-paced, richly comic, and lively atmosphere. Following Pamela as she navigates life as a pure young woman trying to protect her virginity.
