Spendlove has written a very original and engaging tale. This is a very satisfying ending to the series. In particular, I very much liked the use of dreams in the advancement of the plot and the twist in the resolution at the end.

If I have any complaints about this book and the series as whole is the endless repetition of the two primary defining characteristics of the main character, Story, that made her different from the inhabitants of this sister world. After a while that became annoying, particularly as no matter what character made the observation the language used was so similar that not only was it the same thing repeated over and over, but it felt like it. It made it feel like there were only two things that distinguished humans from elves.

Please do not get me wrong, these occurances were isolated annoyances in a tale that drew me, held me, and left me fascinated with Spendlove's take on myth and legend.
