The majority of the book was a page turner for me, right up until almost the very end but it was more about the events happening than the characters. The ending kind of killed it for me. While I liked the characters there isn't a whole lot to make me invested in them. Everything seems to happen to them instead of them being active. It left me off-kilter. I am still on the fence about whether or not to go ahead and invest time in reading the sequel.

It was pretty good! Really interesting concept. The one thing that annoyed me though was the dumb characters 💀 I could clearly see what was happening and the main characters were just so stupid like "omg what is going on?? 😨😨" It was so obvious.. otherwise good

I really enjoyed this book. These days so many books are cliché with a simple plot and pretty obvious twists. But, this novel kept me on my toes the whole time. There were so many betrayals and so much suspense it was hard to put the book down. Almost nothing I expected to happen happened. The relationship between Min and Noah was expected, but took a very unexpected turn. The betrayals and secrets are exciting and add the story’s plot.

Sequel....
Where are you?

This book basically kept me guessing the entire time. I was constantly trying to connect the dots and figure out what the heck Nemesis was. Some of my guesses were right but mostly wrong but that was the fun of this book. Some questions I had still haven’t been answered...again sequel... I’m waiting.

The pace of this book was fast, which I really enjoyed. I didn’t want to stop reading.

I thought the characters were well written so much so that they truly surprised me at times. The only character I found annoying and overly sarcastic was Thomas aka Tack. The author could’ve held back a little on him but hopefully this is just an opportunity for some character growth.

Overall a well-written YA thriller.

I had seen Nemesis at my library for years before I actually picked it up. I thought, this seems exactly like something I'd read. Only upon getting into it did I realize it was so much more.
The beginning of Nemesis starts out the way the blurb states-- a girl named Min is killed on her even birthdays since she was 8. But only until you get towards the end of the book does the true story come about. Not to mention, the plot twists are shocking and unexpected.
Nemesis had great world building, although I must say, with the stress placed on the Anvil it was strange for it to barely affect the book. Plus, the romance between her and Noah seemed unnecessary to me, as it didn't really impact the book or anything.
On that note, the Project Nemesis series has quickly become my favorite series.

Yooo, this was legit. Def has potential to be the next "thing." Maze Runner level thriller and commercial enough to be accessible to everyone. I'm calling it now!
I did have one problem with an aspect of the plot that didn't make total sense (and naming said problem would DEF spoil), but this is CLEARLY the first book in a series so I'm not worried about it rn
Wouldn't be surprised if a movie were to happen, fyi. Hats off to Brendan's first solo!
