I'm reviewing an original pressing of both volumes that I acquired in library binding several years ago. They are great resources. There is so much in vol. 1 that is of worth it is sad to see it is not available here; many historical notes, biographies and explanations. The reconstructions are expert and ingenious, if overreaching at times. The orthography chosen here is I think the best. Many corrections to these works could be made by the tons of scholarship done on this subject since the last printing, but it is still a great work of art. I would like to see corrigenda compiled to update these important volumes.
