Received my copy via NetGalley.

I had listened to the first two books and enjoyed them.

Although I enjoyed this book overall (I like the town and characters), I did find myself becoming irritated with the main character Holly. Not due to her ignoring safety or Evan's requests she stop investigating (there would be no story if she did), but due to her "fury rising" when people asked her to be safe. Honestly, I'm surprised Evan doesn't run for the hills. She is constantly insinuating that he is bad at his job, surprised when he already knows a fact or clue she has found out...how is he still in love with her????

I'll continue with the series....but I'm not sure for how long depending on the next book.

I kind of wish I'd read book 1 & 2 before cracking this one, but I do think this one is okay on its own.

I do like the small town of Mistletoe. They seem to have some really cute events around the holidays and I liked the reindeer games and the inn. But I didn't love the MC. I do love that it's a Christmas based murder mystery - I don't think we have enough of those - but I don't know if, as a cozy mystery, this one really stands out. The twist were a bit out there and the story felt a bit dated even though it's release date was 2021. Cute little cozy holiday mystery.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

This is an easy cozy murder mystery with a plucky protagonist surrounded by loving family and friends in an adorable town called Mistletoe, Maine. Spoiler for the ending:
What in the world… they weren’t even in an relationship and then they get engaged?! They’ve been casually dating for a year but repeatedly called each other friends, not boyfriend/girlfriend. She didn’t know if they were attending a wedding together as dates 3 days before! They hadn’t said they loved each other yet! They hadn’t talked about marriage yet… at 28 and 33 years old! How is it that he’s talked to all her family and friends about helping propose to her, yet he hasn’t even had a conversation with her about their relationship or marriage. The ending should have been him asking her to be his girlfriend. I shouldn’t be this annoyed with the last chapter, but I cannot let this go.
