Just wacky fun this was with whimsical woodland creatures and home-style comforts. Cool format to boot!
I got these after watching the Netflix series and this has just as much heart as the series.
Adorable. Trolls. Quirky girl with blue hair making her way in the world, drawing pictures of rocks, camping in the rain. Weird fox/deer/dog thing. Basically, this graphic novel was a compilation of all the things I like.
Well this is just adorable. It's a simply-told but deceptively deep tale of cosiness and magic and friendship, with shades of Miyazaki and Moomin. I loved it, and can't wait to read the next one!

I've discovered Hilda with the tv adaptation available on Netflix and from day one, I've been a fan!!! Being able to finally read the comic version makes feels so special as the pages are gorgeous and full of details! Can't wait to read it to my niece!
I have been curious about the series since shelving a few of the graphic novels a few months ago at work, and after adding the Netflix series to my Watch List. Given the time of the year, and the time of the semester, I decided now was the time to give it a read for fun's sake.
Hilda reminded me of my own childhood, and how I wanted to be outdoors or somewhere comfortable and free to write, sketch, and explore my imagination (and for mythological creatures). Her sense of adventure, and growing sense of humor, make her a darling heroine to follow! Mr. Pearson is onto something her with our friend as she faces everything (even if Twig or the Woodman have to insist upon it). The illustrations are just as darling, and the style were my favorite part of the book!
Although the first book in the series was room temperature in terms of hooking me or blowing my mind, I am looking forward to seeing how and where things in Hilda's life pick up later into the series.
