Very cute story. Picked it up after finding the Netflix series. Very worth a read.
Literally couldn't stop crying after the tv show ended. I know I'm an adult, but the TV Show is incredible and and the book series is amazing so far!
I should've read this ages ago! I loved "Hilda" on Netflix and this graphic novel is just like the series: wholesome, beautifully drawn, entertaining, sweet and funny. Hilda lives somewhere off-grit with her mother, surrounded by stunning landscape, trolls and other mythological creatures. A weird wood man called Wood Man comes to them, brings wood, and then relaxes in front of a fire. Hilda draws a troll and then has to flee because it's nighttime and that's when trolls wake up. Just sweet.

I read this with my four-year-olds, who were fully engaged with the text the entire time. They asked questions, pointed out things they saw, and were able to follow the simple plotline. I was able to read the entire book with them in one sitting.
I enjoyed the art and the beautiful color palette in this volume. I was surprised at how minimalist the actual story was, but given the length of the book, there is actually a lot that goes on in it. It is a story that I will definitely read again, as I feel like I will gain more of an appreciation for it and a greater understanding of its themes by rereading. I imagine my kids will want to read it again as well.

Hauska pieni pseudomytologinen sarjakuva, täynnä Ghiblimäisiä olentoja. Hildan lemmikki Nuppi on jotain aivan liian suloista sarvineen kaikkineen. Toivottavasti näitä suomennetaan lisääkin.
