kayteeem's review against another edition
Overall, I enjoyed it. As usual in any short story collection, there were some I liked better than others.

This collection is often quite silly, but nice overall. The short stories "Holmes on the Range," "The Spiritualist," "Mrs. Hudson Investigates," and "Adventure of the Empty Grave" stand out as particularly fun.

A delightful anthology. I think my favorites are the first story, about a private lending library that's actually a retirement home for famous fictional characters, and the story where an actor who plays Holmes gets asked for help by a little girl.

Fun collection of stories that were inspired by the Holmes canon. My absolute favorite was the first story called "Holmes on the Range" which imagines a world where there is a library that houses literary characters after the author's die. Would that not be the best place to work?

A good, solid 4-star anthology!
Good job, King, Klinger, and...the rest of y'all. You did good! Raising the bar for sure.

This was a collection of mostly-strong Sherlockian spin-offs. There were only three I didn't care for (whose idea was it to put a graphic novel in this? It really doesn't work here.). I found Anne Perry's story "Raffa" to be particularly charming, and also especially enjoyed Meg Gardiner's "Irregular" and Tasha Alexander's "Before a Bohemian Scandal." I guess I liked the more feminist interpretations, which should not be a surprise to anyone who knows me. I want to read the other collection edited by Laurie King for sure.

Short stories inspired by the short stories and novels featuring Sherlock Holmes. An interesting collection of stories and an amazing variety in the approaches taken by the authors.
