That’s Riverdale, Jughead! This prequel really taps into the insanity we recognize from seasons 3+ of the show, including epic conspiracies, ultra-convenient celebrity connections, and group chats. After having dug deep into the show, this novel really exemplifies that our team of four is strongest when they’re together.

This was a great read for anyone who’s a fan of Riverdale. Sticking to the exact same plot as the tv series, this book explores what the town of Riverdale was up to the summer before the show aired. I would love to see another book following the plot of the first series from this other.

Betty is off completing an LA internship however someone is out to make sure she doesn’t get any higher up the food chain other than making the coffee. Archie is enjoying spending his time playing and writing music, along with helping out at his dads construction site, however he has one massive secret he is trying his hardest to keep from everyone; he’s in love with his music teacher. Jughead is dealing with everything life throws at him whilst trying to survive a summer without his two best friends; Betty and Archie and Veronica is living a luxury lifestyle in Manhattan thanks to daddy’s credit cards, what could possibly go wrong?

This does a better job of capturing the nonsense that I so enjoy about Riverdale than most of the Riverdale tie-in comics have done. It's still not as good as the show but what is, tbh

I'm a big fan of Riverdale so I was really excited when I picked this one up. This book is created for fans of the show, which seems kind of obvious, but you really won't understand the story if you haven't watched Riverdale.
I like how the story is told trough things like diary entries, letters etc., but overall it was quite boring in my opinion.
If you're a fan of Riverdale, you might enjoy it though. c:

I've never watched Riverdale and am only vaguely familiar with the Archie comic series (new or old). So this was an introduction for me. I enjoyed the book and it has piqued my interest in the series. I do feel that this book had too many plot points and "twists" for its length. I felt like the book, at least as it stands on its own, bit off more than it could successfully chew, so to speak.

It is what it is. And what it is is nothing special.
