I picked this book up at a random Target, unaware that it was book #3 of a series, and finished it in a couple of days. I have several issues.

1. The writing is bland. It is not bad, it is most certainly not good, it is just boring.
2. The repeated “my 11-year-old daughter is basically an adult” in the mother’s point of view, with the simultaneous “my husband is like another child.” Do not even get me started. She is 11. Treat your first born daughters well!
3. It’s so forgettable. I didn’t feel like I was reading a suspenseful thriller at all.

i wanted to like it but it fell flat. who were these characters??? the years definitely took their toll lol.

Fast-Forward ⏩

⏩Millie is now married and ⏩the mother of two children, Ada and Nico. ⏩ Obviously, she married Enzo.

Seeking a better environment for their children, they moved from the Bronx to Long Island.

However, where Millie goes, murder still seems to follow her ...

As with the previous two books, this one reveals much of the plot by the halfway point, but that’s when the real thriller begins.

That said, I felt the author struggled to sustain the plot’s tension after the murder occurred, resulting in a rushed and predictable wrap-up. Everything became very predictable until the final chapter, where the story took an unexpected turn.

While I'm not entirely disappointed with this third installment, I did expect more thrills.

It's a decent read if you choose to pick it up, but you're not missing much if you don't. This one falls short of the 5-star ratings of its predecessors.

PS: If you've read the previous two, you might not want to skip this one, if author is contemplating to continue with next in the series.
