I absolutely loved catching fire from the start! I loved the hunger games and was excited to begin reading catching fire. Surprisingly Catching fire is my favorite book from this trilogy mainly because it had a lot more description and featured other characters more. I loved the action in it it was very engrossing! Katniss grew a lot in this 2nd book and I loved how we got to learn more about her! The new characters that we meet in here (Finnick, Beetee, Johanna etc.) I automatically loved. They were very interesting and brought this book to life. I also enjoyed how Peeta and Katniss's relationship in this book grew. Also can we just stop and appreciate the arena building in this one! It was genius how the arena turned out to be a clock! Anyway Suzanne Collins blew me away again with this book and the writing style.

Two things I want to start this, just finished this novel, so not sure how I want to rate this yet, but I am so proud of the reading I’ve done in the back half of this year I don’t know what’s come over me, but I really have actually had some goals and stuck with them. I can’t believe I finished legendborn and I might finish the Hunger Games trilogy before the the year is over WOW, these are books that I’ve been meaning to get to for years and now I’m reading them and I’m so proud of myself.
Now I don’t know if I’m anxious tonight or something but, I could not sleep henceforth I finished this novel. I have many thoughts.
Suzanne really slows this pace in this second novel to set the scene for the rebellion that is taking place. The games go by so quickly, I was shocked when I was almost complete with the novel if feels so different from the pacing of the rest of the novel.
To me the first 65 percent is very slow and it seems a lot of the novel blurs together as Katniss goes from the victory tour to home to the transformation of twelve under the peacekeepers, because everything is happening in the same setting with new circumstances, I don’t know, to me, once again the pace just felt slower. Even in preparation for the games like it wasn’t until the games chapters started that the chapters started to melt away for me.
One big difference in the novel from the movie’s characterization of Katniss is her willingness to be a part of the rebellion. I think the Katniss that I grew accustomed to (the movies) was very reluctant and scared to rebel. In comparison to this Katniss, that's eager to plan and rebel, is thinking of how to execute these plans in twelve, in the arena, and even as she believes she has been taken by the capital.
The entire last chapter of this book is insane to me MS.COLLINS PEN WAS GOING CRAZY
Ummm everything with Katniss and Peeta’s entire relationship is fascinating to me especially the way Collin’s wrote it, it honestly doesn’t even feel like a love triangle to me. Because of how little Gale is involved in both of these books. Maybe my opinion will change with the last book.
Haymitch is also extremely interesting in this book and the role he plays to Katniss. I’m more excited to see what Suzanne has to say with his story.
I’m scared to get into the last book but I’m also excited I CANT BELIEVE IM PROBABLY GONNA FINISH THE HUNGER GAMES THIS YEAR AND MAYBE BALLAD LIKE WOAHHHH!!! I’m so proud of myself heheheh
I think it’s probably a 4 maybe 4.25 for now subject to change
