The things others didn't like about this book are the things I actually enjoyed. Yes, it was almost textbook like with it's Egyptology and quantum physics lessons but I found the information fascinating.
The plot moved along at a good pace but I struggled with the different timelines and knowing where we were . I couldn't tell if that was intentional or not. Also, SPOILERS....The way she carried on about her husband and Gita was ridiculous to me, as though he had an affair. It was overly dramatic. I also found her attitude about Win and the letter to her former lover overly dramatic. It was not going to 'ruin two families', it wasn't as though they were going to get back together since she was on her deathbed. Overall it just didn't feel realistic to me and the ending was a cop out
All that said, it was nice escapism.

If you need a book to tie things up at the end, don’t read this book.  The end is just left with an unanswered question. Very annoying

I disliked the main character of this book so found it hard to enjoy the story.  The amount of Egyptology education was overwhelming (but impressive on the part of Picoult). I really wanted to love this book,  but it was “ok”.

This one had my brain going all kinds of fantastic directions. I don’t know that Picoult ever disappoints!

Took awhile to get into because the first third is long and slow and filled with too much Egyptian history. Loved the death doula stuff and the Egyptian facts sprinkled in throughout the rest of the book. An interesting story about the decisions that make us. Writing style is fine but didn’t grab me. Would maybe try this author again if the story is captivating and faster paced.
