I didn't really like any of the characters in this book and there was way too much information and not enough story to keep me motivated to keep reading, so I had to give up on this one for the moment.

Loved oit...til the last sentence.

Alberto and Wyatt are the only ones with any sense.

One thing about Jodi Picoult's books: There's a LOT to them. Another thing about Jodi Picoult's books: Despite the sheer amount of details her books contain, Jodi Picoult, generally speaking, does not write books that I would consider to be a "slow read."

This book, however, felt every bit as heavy as its theme. It was definitely a slow burn, but equally one that was worth the time invested in it.

At a major crossroads in her life, Egyptologist and death doula Dawn finds herself on a plane that is destined to crash. No matter what happens, Dawn will survive the crash, but there are only two possibilities of what her life after the crash will look like. Throughout the novel, both of Dawn's potential realities unfold side by side. For a woman who has spent nearly her entire life studying the grayness of death, Dawn finds on this incredible journey that maybe life is less black and white than she thought. Maybe life, in all of its many contradictory truths, is just as mysterious as death.

The Book of Two Ways will have readers thinking about their own moments coming to a fork in the road. What does it mean to have to choose between two things? And when your only choice is to make a choice, is there really a wrong answer?

DNF. I do not care enough about Egyptology to bother continuing to read this book. Like other reviewers mentioned, it reads like a textbook. I don’t want to read textbook material when I’m reading for leisure! I like most of Jodi Picoult’s books, but not this one (or A Spark of Light).

i have never hated a book more. i cried genuine tears of anger.
this entire book was just a justification of cheating. when win said something about how she felt like she was cheating on her first love with her husband i fucking lost it. that is not how it works. if you felt that way you shouldn't have married him in the first place.
dawn was so hypocritical of brian. he could have cheated on her??? he like didn't even think about it. you cannot say that he probably wished that he was in the alternate universe where he slept with her when half of the book is you hooking up and getting back together with your ex lover. brian showed dawn he cared so much. he tried so hard to make the marriage work and she didn't even try at all. she let him go, even worse she left him. how can she say "i love that he was trying to make it work... but he's not the one i'm thinking of"???? girl what? make it make sense. and wyatt's whole thing of "if it had been me i wouldn't have left you" BRIAN LEFT BECAUSE HE CARED ENOUGH ABOUT DAWN TO LET HER MAKE HER DECISION!!!
Speaking of Wyatt, where were his flaws?? he's a perfect character which makes him and dawn so unrealistic. her whole thing about not being able to love brian because it had become comfortable, because of the years of doing laundry and dishes and other shit, like that won't happen with wyatt. are they even going to love each other when they aren't in egypt or at school? they don't know anything about. also how do they still love each other after fifteen years when they had like a few months of hooking up be their entire relationship. i just couldn't believe the two of them together. it wasn't realistic. her relationship with brian was. and he was trying so hard and she just didn't care. and then he like loses meret too??? when he was such a good parent??? it's just so not fair. and the premise was so interesting . i think it would've been better if a) dawn wasn't married and b) the storylines were completely separate.
actually now that i think of it, wyatt cheating on his fiance with dawn makes them the perfect fucking couple.
justice for brian.

3.5 stars. Emotional messes, manifesting, multiverses... I was ready to adore this but it was hard to follow the timeline(s?) via audiobook. Still, I liked the writing and will read more of this author's work.

I loved this book! I'm doing a book club and for February, we chose a romance novel which I was hesitant to do, but I'm so glad I did! This book had a very interesting structure that paralleled ideas and plot points that were happening in the story.
