Heartbreaking and beautiful and frustrating and it made me cry on a plane.
I was surprised when my request for this new release (with nearly 300 holds!) was fulfilled. I think I was meant to read this book as I start to process the death of my mother. While living, dying and remembering is at the core of this book, it’s not in the way you would think. This book brought me some comfort and understanding during such a difficult part of my life.
“When you lose someone you love, there is a tear in the fabric of the universe. It’s the scar you feel for, the flaw you can’t stop seeing. It’s the tender place that won’t bear weight. It’s a void.”

Thought the timeline was confusing; bones of the story were good.

I had not read a Picoult novel in a while - but enjoyed this one immensely. As well as learning about Egyptology and quantum physics, she had some interesting things to say about marriage, choices made, and in the end what you choose to live with, or live without.

Took me a bit to get into this. Wasn't loving it at the beginning, but the story is great!
2.5. This book didn't do it for me. I love ancient Egypt, and I normally love Jodi Picoult's books, but this didn't come together. She clearly did a ton of research, like she always does, but this time it felt superfluous to the story. I also found the structure confusing and the end disappointing.
i am *not* messing with the egypt parts unfortunately
