đź“š Review: Damn. This book was heavy. I had a hard time putting it down, and when I had to, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. While this book is fiction, the mystery of what happened was happening kept me reading, though I did guess it.
I felt like some of the characters were well written while others weren’t, and a lot of ethical lines were crossed by these characters. I did like this story and some of the dialogue, and am curious about the writers other books!

This book was a good, but a hard read. It discusses the story of a person who is suicidal, along with another main character, Tallie, who has her own struggles in life. The one part that significantly bothered me is that Tallie is a licensed, clinical therapist and does one thing in which I find to be unethical, if not illegal, which I will describe in the next sentence. Spoiler, but not spoiler, she rescues the suicidal person, but does not bring him to the hospital for an evaluation. She states that she does not have to report this, even as a mandated reporter, because "he is not a client of hers". I feel like this is ethically wrong and potentially even illegal. Tallie, in the end, does end up staying with him for 72 hours, similar to a psych hold, although, that is not her original intention (so she can't use that as an excuse as to why she didn't bring him the the hospital for a more thorough evaluation). If you can get past this fact, then I would recommend this book. If you cannot, then this book may not be for you.
