This book is the perfect reminded that human kindness still exists in our crazy world. Tallie and Emmett reminded me, that life happens to us all. The good, the bad, the little things and the world crushing things that make us ask ourselves is it all worth it. This is 100% a book I needed, when I read it. And the cover art?? 10/10.
I will say, however, this book moves extremely slow. I partially liked it. It started out lazy and just informal. The drag at first was kind of comforting. It was a really long "getting to know you" phase. But, for me as a reader, it went on a little too long. The real climax of the book isn't until 60 pages from the ending.
Worth the read, but not one I will keep.

A rainy night brings Tallie and Emmett together at the right time for each of them. Tallie, a therapist recovering fom a devastating divorce, encounters Emmett at his lowest attempting to end his pain. Throughout the next 3 days, they experience a lot of emotions together. But both of them are keeping secrets about who they are so they can be allowed the freedom of not being judged for their profession or their past.
.
A beautifully written journey about healing, taking up your own space and how to move forward.

Also for a therapist Tallulah was making a lot of 'red flag's decisions.

The ending was absolutely not satisfying - not for the most obvious reason (I can definitely respect and appreciate that), but because it really didn't fit the rest of the plot. The story simply gets interrupted and yanked back into "real life", I guess.
I wanted to like this book so much and now I'm just sad and disappointed, like I've fallen for a ruse.
