A really nice completion of Phedre's story! Weaves between boring and intense, sad and hopeful. It resolves many storylines and plot threads. Such an interesting world, as an interpretation of our own.
I had a really hard time staying engaged in the first half, but I was drawn in by the second half.

I loved the rest of the trilogy, but think it tails off in this final book. I miss the political intrigue of the first two!

This was very compelling and I read it straight through, all in one go. This one, more so than the other two, is extremely extremely dark in the middle. So many content warnings!!! But I still enjoyed Phedre's narration and the politics of the world, and especially the traveling portions on either side of the extremely dark bit. I am looking forward to the next trilogy though, in the hopes that it will be less filled with torture.

I mean, I got 73%... I could have finished. I just didn't want to.

At this point I was more or less just on this ride with these characters for the fact that I've read the previous two books. But really, I was getting pretty tired of Phedre's martyrdom and all this damn traveling to and fro and back and fro again... and some of the cultural stereotypes were... not super great.
