Was this my favorite book ever? No.

Did it deliver on all its promises and provide a satisfying conclusion? In my opinion, yes.

It’s slow and rambly at times, and the unnecessary sex scenes are eye-roll-inducing, but I recognize that it takes a lot of skill to make readers root for such a variety of characters, from the most crass and cantankerous to the prissy, holier-than-though types. The entire last 20% is an edge-of-your-seat, heart-in-your-throat roller coaster.

This final book in the trilogy wrapped the series up so nicely. It was a nice change of pace after the too slow book 2. The twists were genuinely surprising, but on track for the characters. I definitely did not expect to have my heart wrenched out during the epilogue, but I sure did have that happen.

This series has easily stolen a place in my heart and these characters will truly remain favorites of my mine.

The world, the magic, the action, the drama, the twists, the relationships, and the plot were outstanding! Yes, my least favorite trope was found in this book but I enjoyed the novel regardless.

Lou and Reid will be one of my favorite ships. Always.
