This is going slower … took forever to get through. Good good fantasy, but by golly there were a lot of repetitive scenes going on here… I might need a break from this series for a bit… 

 

Positive Elements: this is PG writing, and Sanderson sticks to it; the mature themed content he deals with is delivered delicately and implied between the lines in an oh-so-euphemistic manner. You can let your 8-12 year old read this if they have a strong stomach for fantasy sword battles and aren’t too curious about eunuchs… 

 

The story is an engulfing sort of fantasy that pulls you way into the woods—and then doesn’t let you out for far too long. You feel a bit relieved when it’s all over. 

 

But it’s good good fantasy, baby.
