I love this series and I love Luc. The banter, the arrogance, the ridiculousness... It feeds my snarky, romantic soul!

It had a good balance of answering some burning questions while creating so many more.

So much happened in The Burning Shadow. I mean Evie and Luc were amazing from start to finish. Even if they were trying to kill me with all the sexual tension flying between them. Back to so much happening - I mean it. This book had endless twists and turns. At one point I thought I was going to get whiplash because I would starting thinking things were going to go one way -then BAM! This book is in a different state.

Not sure if that makes sense or whatever.. but just know that this kept me on my toes. I was really intrigued by this whole disease/sickness. Ever since it was introduced it has been on the back of my mind. So when people were starting to change due to the sickness and getting freakishly stronger - damn, I was in love with it all. Weird, I know but I wanted to know how it was happening so badly.

Then there's April. Oh April. Hated her in the first book and my opinion on her didn't change. She was very mysterious and a pretty good villain. Even if it was short lived. Not sad about what happened to her because karma.

Other than that, can people please stop dying? Especially that ones that I started to love. Hot damn. No more deaths please. I can't go into the third book and deal with more sadness.

My heart is BURSTING!
HOLY ALIEN BABIES!

Squueeeinggg!
Ahh!

I'm loving Luc's character arc even more and if the next book is not called The Brightest Night, I will literally cry so many rivers the world will be under water.

That cliffhanger has me absolutely screaming and needing book three NOW!!

I honestly didn’t think this series could get any better but it did! This one has a bit more sadness but also more hope. And we get characters from the LUX series! I can’t wait to read the next one.

This book was a lot slower than the first, and I was a little lost in some parts. The plot twists were more confusing than satisfying when revealed. Either way, I still really love the relationship between Luc and Evie, and I am still patiently waiting for October 20th. I always come into a 2nd book expecting it to not be as good as the 1st, so I was not really let down by this book. I just was not super impressed with it. The ending though... I won't spoil it, but boy was I not expecting that.

4.5 stars! Yay! I love how this book feels like old school JLA, if there is such a thing. I really enjoyed reading the Lux series, and it’s been really fun to see Luc’s story unfold in this book and The Darkest Star, and Evie’s character is so interesting! It stinks having to wait a year before the next book is out, but I know it’ll be worth the wait!

I really enjoyed the second book much more then the first. I almost didn't even read this but I decided to give it a chance.
